GLAFIMS ASSOCIATION: Advancing Medical Justice Through Science and Global Collaboration

Who they are:

The Global Academy of Forensic and Investigative Medicine and Science (GLAFIMS Association) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) registered in India dedicated to promoting academic and professional development in the fields of forensic medicine, investigative medicine, and allied sciences. GLAFIMS ASSOCIATION  registered with Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India as entities to undertake CSR Activities in India. Glafims is authorized to facilitate Corporate Social Responsibility Tasks.

Vision:.

GLAFIMS aims to "uplift the status of forensic medicine, investigative medicine and allied health science nationally and internationally by promoting mutual interaction between stakeholders for the advancement of relevant scientific knowledge." Through collaboration and cooperation between professionals, they seek to ensure justice is served by providing accurate and reliable scientific evidence.

Major Mission of GLAFIMS:

1 To support economically weak student to gain Education and training in the field of Forensic Medicine, Science, Law, Toxicology, Criminology & other allied sciences

2 To promote educational institutes in the field of Forensic Medicine, Science, Law, Toxicology, Criminology & other allied sciences.

3 To uplift the status of Education in forensic medicine, investigative medicine and allied health science nationally and internationally by promoting mutual interaction between stakeholders for the advancement of relevant scientific knowledge

Key Activities:

·        Education and Training: GLAFIMS organizes conferences, workshops, and webinars on various forensic and investigative topics for professionals and students. They also publish a scientific journal, the International Journal of Medical Jurisprudence (IJMJ).

·        Research and Development: The association encourages and supports research in forensic medicine and investigative science, promoting the development of new technologies and methodologies.

·        Networking and Advocacy: GLAFIMS facilitates communication and collaboration among professionals through online platforms and partnerships with other organizations. They also advocate for improved standards and practices in forensic science.

·        Social Responsibility: GLAFIMS is committed to giving back to the community through CSR activities, including providing free medico-legal aid to underprivileged populations.

• GLAFIMS is an international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) registered with Union des Associations Internationales, Brussels, Belgium.
• GLAFIMS Association is also registered with Government of India [registration number is 157354]
• Registered with the Government of India and ISO 26000 certified, demonstrating their commitment to legal compliance and ethical practices.
• Received recognition from various national and international organizations for their contributions to the field.
• Actively involved in capacity building and knowledge sharing through their educational programs and publications.
• Contributed to improved standards and practices in forensic science through advocacy and collaboration.
• GLAFIMS is a registered international publisher registered ISSN International Centre [CIEPS - ISSN].
• International Journal of Medical Justice [IJMJ] is official scientific medical journal published by GLAFIMS.

International Chair in Scientific Medical Justice

The International Chair in Scientific Medical Justice [Short Name: International Chair in Justice or ICMJ or ICJ] is the initiative taken by GLAFIMS Association in its foundation meeting on December 31, 2021.   The establishment of ICMJ is purely within the bylaws of GLAFIMS. The ICMJ or ICJ is not involved in justice system of any country including Indian Justice System. The main aim of ICMJ or ICJ is to scholarly facilitate the prevailing legal systems. The aim of ICMJ is  “Academic advancement of relevant scientific medical knowledge to facilitate the criminal justice administration system”.

Looking Ahead:

GLAFIMS Association continues to play a vital role in advancing the fields of forensic and investigative medicine through its multifaceted approach. With their dedication to education, research, collaboration, and social responsibility, they strive to be a leading force in ensuring justice through science.

We are in a process of establishing atleast 25 International Subunits under GLAFIMS. The units will be established in Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Ethiopia, Italy, Jordan, KSA, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Mauritania, México, Morocco, Nepal, Netherlands, Nigeria, Singapore, Sudan, South Sudan, Spain, Syria, Tanzania, Tunisia, Turkey, UAE, UK, USA, Yemen, Zimbabwe in the year 2024-25.
